Apollo Global Management is looking to acquire home security company Protection 1, in a deal that could value it at $1.5Billion.
The private equity firm are reportedly in advanced talks to purchase the US company according to Reuters, which cited people familiar with the matter.
Protection 1’s owner, buyout firm GTCR, may yet decide to sell the company to another bidder or cancel the sale altogether.
GTCR purchase the company back in 2008. ADT and Ares management are also interested in an auction for Protection 1, the people said. Chicago-based Protection 1 provides security alarm monitoring services for residential and business customers.
Those services include burglary and fire protection, access control, video surveillance and maintenance. Blackstone Group acquired Protection 1 competitor Vivint for more than $2bn back in November 2012.
