ONVIF Calls On Developers For Advanced Video Streaming Challenge

ONVIF® is announcing the ONVIF Open Source Spotlight Challenge, a technology competition to develop open source applications for innovative IP video streaming applications to help resolve global security issues. The two-month online challenge, offered in conjunction with BeMyApp, offers lucrative cash prizes for developers who use the protocol provided by ONVIF to create open source mobile or desktop applications for advanced video streaming that provides easy and secure authentication from all platforms.

Hanwha Previews ISC West Product Lineup

Hanwha Techwin America will unveil its latest Wisenet multi-sensor and thermal cameras and showcase its recently announced WAVE VMS at ISC West 2018. Hanwha Techwin expands their multi-sensor camera line with the new PNM-7000VD and broadens their line of solutions by introducing thermal cameras capable of long range detection.

ONVIF Hosts 17th Annual Developers’ Plugfest

ONVIF® hosted its 17th ONVIF Developers’ Plugfest in early November in Seoul, South Korea – the group’s second largest plugfest ever and the largest in the past five years. With multiple testings of ONVIF conformant products, the Developers’ Plugfest included interoperability testing for all six ONVIF profiles, including prototypes for the Release Candidate of Profile T for advanced streaming.

ONVIF Hosts Annual 2017 Member Webinar

ONVIF Releases Profile A For Broader Access Control Configuration

ONVIF®, the leading global standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, has announced the final release of Profile A for broader access control configuration that establishes a standardized interface for access control clients and expands the configuration options of ONVIF conformant access control systems. The release marks the first open specification that allows for the mixing and matching of access control devices and clients within a system, facilitating interoperability for multi-vendor projects.

Highways England To Deploy Standards-Based CCTV System Based On ONVIF Open Standards

ONVIF®, the leading global standardisation initiative for IP-based physical security products, announced today that Highways England has adopted an ONVIF-centric open standards approach to video technology for the continued expansion and management of its national highway CCTV and traffic system. The use of an open, standards-based CCTV system allows the national transport organization to support existing CCTV cameras while providing a pathway for adding new, ONVIF Profile S conformant cameras from a variety of different vendors to the system.

ONVIF Holds 16th Developers Plugfest In Québéc City

ONVIF®, the leading global standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, hosted its 16th ONVIF Developers’ Plugfest (ODP) May 10–12 in Québéc City, Québéc, at the Delta Hotel Quebec City in the Old Town district. With multiple testings of ONVIF conformant products, the Developers’ Plugfest offered interoperability testing for five ONVIF profiles, including the Release Candidate of Profile A for broader access control configuration, which is scheduled for final release this summer.

ONVIF Speaks On Standards, IoT At European Security Conferences

ONVIF®, the leading global standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, announced that ONVIF Chairman Per Björkdahl will be speaking on behalf of ONVIF at the Amsterdam Security Conference in Amsterdam on November 1st and at SKYDD Protection 2016 in Stockholm on October 27th. He will speak to attendees at both events on the role of standards and their relevance to the fast evolving Internet of Things.

The webinar is hosted by Memoori, an independent market research company that studies the physical security, smart buildings and energy management markets.

ONVIF Releases Profile Q For Quick Install, Advanced Security

Profile Q also supports Transport Layer Security (TLS), a secure communication protocol that allows ONVIF devices themselves to communicate with clients across a network in a way that protects against tampering and eavesdropping. Profile Q has been in release candidate status in order to provide industry review and feedback prior to the final release.

ONVIF Hosts 14th Developers’ Plugfest In London

ONVIF®, the leading global standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, hosted its 14th Developers’ Plugfest June 1-3 in Brentford, West London, at the Holiday Inn London – Brentford Lock. With multiple testings of ONVIF conformant products, the Developers’ Plugfest included interoperability testing for all six ONVIF profiles, including Profiles Q and A, which are both scheduled for final release in 2016, and Profile T, ONVIF’s newest profile for video that is currently in development.
