Administered by the Mexican real estate company Internacional de Inversiones (IDEI), the VAO1 and VAO2 office buildings are located in the city of Monterrey, in northern Mexico. Because the offices are rented out to a variety of different companies, channeling the flow of visitors through the building represents a major challenge. With visitors and staff coming and going to different destinations all day long, an automated entry system was a prerequisite. Boon Edam optical turnstiles offered the optimum solution.

Keeping Track of Suspicious Behavior
As one of the leading real estate companies in Mexico, IDEI’s buildings must be at the forefront of technology. Their rental customers expect quality, continuous operation and well-managed entrances.

To accomplish these objectives, guards monitor the lobbies for unauthorized access and Boon Edam Speedlane optical turnstiles were installed to support them in their job, as well as to allow IDEI to keep accurate, real-time entry records.

Donaciano De Anda, Maintenance Supervisor at IDEI, explains, “We need to know who is inside the building at all times, these turnstiles allow us to track exactly who enters when. An added benefit is that we are able to detect and act on suspicious behavior, such as an employee entering the building at 3:00 in the morning.”

Combining Efficiency with Design
IDEI chose to install two Swinglane 900 optical turnstiles of a standard width and one suitable for wheelchairs for the VAO1 building. Boon Edam’s Speedlane 300 with illuminated angel wings was better suited for VAO2. De Anda is quite pleased with the solutions installed, “These turnstiles have proven to be efficient and easy to maintain. What’s more, their design perfectly suits the look of our building.”
