Ahead of their first meeting Tuesday, The Enquirer surveyed members of DeWine?s new advisory group ? judges, police, a prosecutor, a public defender and a coroner.
None of the advisory board members called for the facial recognition system to be put on hold while they meet, as advocated by Democratic attorney general candidate David Pepper, Sen. Shirley Smith, D-Cleveland, and the American Civil Liberties Union, which was denied a seat on the new panel.
But advisory group members did voice concerns with the facial recognition system and the database that it searches, which contains information about nearly every Ohioan.
