Sigma Designs® (NASDAQ: SIGM), a leading provider of intelligent system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for Smart TV, Internet of Things (IoT) for Smart Home and set-top-boxes (STBs), announced the launch of Version 6.6 software development kit which includes advanced system diagnostics and enhancements to the Installation and Maintenance Application (IMA) tool that is widely used to shorten installation time for service providers.
The new SDK delivers tools to enable more efficient installations and has the foundation to support UL approval using the enhancements to the received signal strength indicator.
Z-Wave enabled Smart Home Lifestyle features are creating momentum in the Telco and security industries and have created new revenue streams and profits for those sectors.
According to Tom Kerber, Director of Research at Parks Associates “Z-Wave is the dominant technology in the leading channel providing smart home control systems, the security channel. In 2014, over 30% of new professionally monitored security systems were installed with a home control device.”
Market-leading Z-Wave technology, with some 40M interoperable devices already deployed in homes around the world, is addressing this accelerating adoption with 30 new features in v6.6 SDK to speed install time and create a more robust remote management environment.
With tens of thousands of Z-Wave enabled panels being installed each month in the monitored security vertical, the ability to keep install time to a minimum and to access diagnostics remotely without a truck roll not only saves time and money for the service providers, but results in more satisfied customers.
Key Features:
- Enhanced network statistics
- Signal strength feedback for optimal network health status
- More accurate identification of traffic disruption causes for faster repairs
- Improved node communication visibility for faster resolution of any network communication issues
- Easier commissioning and de-commissioning of devices
