Smarter Security, Inc., provider of premium, innovative entrance control and outdoor security solutions, announced that a recent IHS Technology research report identified Fastlane® as the market share leader for intra-building speedgates in the United States.
The Market for Pedestrian Entrance Control Equipment ? 2015 report reveals the Americas market grew at a healthy 19.2 percent combined annual growth rate since 2012. With 22.9 percent of this market, Smarter Security?s Fastlane continues as the number one brand in the U.S. since it assumed the top spot in 2008.
?The United States is the fastest-growing country for pedestrian entrance control in the world, and it is, by far, the largest market for intra-building speedgates in the Americas region where Smarter Security participates,? said Jared Bickenbach, market analyst, access control/fire & security for IHS Technology. ?Smarter Security outpaced the market growth and picked up about 2 percentage points of share. Overall, since our last report in 2013, we found the competitive market consolidated around the top four suppliers.?
Smarter Security had a record year in 2014 and Fastlane speedgates, also known as barrier turnstiles, were the principle source of growth. This success resulted in Smarter Security growing even faster than the United States speedgate market overall, adding more share points to the company?s previous leadership position.
Smarter Security introduced the concept of a speedgate with swinging glass barriers nearly ten years ago with Fastlane Glassgate®, and this is now the leading segment of the speedgates market.
Smarter Security also leads the retractable flap segment, capturing over half the market with its Glasswing® turnstile.
The IHS research shows the Americas market for pedestrian entrance control is the fastest growing region in the world and is worth over $100 million. Speedgates are nearly half of this market, which also includes tripod turnstiles, security doors, and full-height turnstiles.
?It is gratifying to see that our team?s hard work and our reliable Fastlane solutions have not only helped Smarter Security gain share, but also sustained us as the leading choice among providers in the U.S.,? said Jeff Brown, CEO of Smarter Security. ?Despite increased efforts by the competition, Fastlane optical turnstiles continue to be frequently chosen for their elegant design, intelligent technology, and performance in securing lobby entrances from intruders. We are very excited at the direction and pace of the market and confident in our ability to serve integrators and end users better than we ever have before.?
Smarter Security offers the broadest selection of barrier and barrier-free optical turnstiles in the industry. Fastlane?s refined aesthetic design and customization offerings are ideally suited for lobbies of the Class A buildings they are installed to secure. The company will have several speedgate models available for demonstration in booth 3217 at the ASIS annual seminar taking place in the Anaheim Convention Center in southern California from September 28 ? October 1, 2015.
