Consultancy group Goode Intelligence has predicted that bank customers will be using biometrics as the predominant Biometrics to Dominate Banking Methods by 2020 of identifying themselves to access bank services by 2020. According to a new report by Dell Security, cyber attacks on supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems doubled last year – and they?ve increased 600% since 2012. As alarming as those statistics are, another key finding is even more troubling: physically disruptive attacks are becoming increasingly common. In fact, 25% of all cyber incidents last year were a specific type of attack that can flood SCADA systems and shut down mechanical devices, potentially disrupting physical operations.

Chinese researchers have successfully developed the first automated teller machine (ATM) with facial recognition technology to reduce the risk of theft, media reports said. The developers include Tsinghua University and Tzekwan Technology, a Hangzhou firm in eastern China’s Zhejiang province that provides security protection for financial transactions.
