National Security Summit

August 29, 2017 - August 30, 2017

National Security is becoming an ever more important trope within the policy sphere on both an international, national and human level. The nature of modern threats to Australian security leave us faced with a multifaceted landscape in which we must simultaneously address international threats arising from instability in the Pacific region, intra-national threats from home grown terrorism and cyber security, and transnational threats from climate change and energy instability. The range of threats we face are complex, diverse, and immediate.

This year’s National Security Summit will provide a high level, policy-driven dialogue with a theme and focus on ‘Policy, Coordination & Stability’ and consider the nuanced and often divergent approaches to securing peace and stability within and around Australia. The Summit will draw on government policy, industry capability, international perspectives, research & innovation, and expert analysis.
