Siqura’s marine dome camera will assist The Ocean Cleanup foundation in its work in the Pacific Ocean starting mid-2018. The Ocean Cleanup decided to choose Siqura’s camera after a competitive selection process. Siqura sponsors their valuable work on this project by providing this state-of-the-art technology at a discounted price.

Across the globe, ocean-borne trash has accumulated in five so-called ‘ocean garbage patches’. The largest of these is the Great Pacific Garbage Patch located between Hawaii and San Francisco, California.

If left to circulate, the plastic will impact ecosystems, health and economies. Solving it requires a combination of closing the source and cleaning up what has already accumulated in the ocean. The Ocean Cleanup develops advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic.

A full-scale deployment of its systems is estimated to clean up 50 % of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch within five years.

Mid-2018 a 600 meter-long cleanup system will be deployed in the ocean between Hawaii and San Francisco, California. This system concentrates ocean plastic in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, so it can easily be removed and brought back to shore for recycling.

Siqura’s SA-HSD820V2H3 Marine Dome Camera is just the right camera for assisting The Ocean Cleanup Foundation. It has been specifically designed for use in harsh offshore and marine environments.

The camera housing is constructed from 316L stainless steel for maximum corrosion protection. It is also protected against vibrations and shocks and capable of coping with large differences in temperature. Its state-of-the-art technology and 30 x zoom capacity will allow the foundation to display its important work in the best way possible.

The Ocean Cleanup is a foundation that develops technologies to extract plastic pollution from the oceans and prevent more plastic debris from entering ocean waters. The organization was founded in 2013 by Boyan Slat, a Dutch-born inventor-entrepreneur of who serves as its CEO.

It has received over USD 31.5 million in donations from sponsors including Salesforce chief executive Marc Benioff, philanthropist Peter Thiel, Julius Baer Foundation and Royal DSM. The Ocean Cleanup also raised over 2 million USD through a crowdfunding campaign. The foundation’s headquarters are in Delft, the Netherlands.

The cameras have never been left behind. Outdoor security cameras are also simple to install. Our Columbus outdoor security cameras can be set up to supply you with 24 hour surveillance of any region of your premises, with distinct cameras based on the size of your premises and your requirements. The Canary Flex Indoor Outdoor Security Camera takes care of that possible problem by offering a whole 360 degree swivel ability, so that you can view a broader range of space with only one camera.
