Inovonics To Demo Integrated Milestone Video And Enterprise Mobile Duress (EMD) Solution Using XProtect VMS Platform At ISC West 2014

Inovonics is a leading provider of enterprise life-safety and specialized commercial wireless systems. The company pioneered the use of 900 MHz frequency hopping spread spectrum wireless technology to deliver the most reliable and cost-effective solutions for critical commercial wireless needs.

Inovonics, a leading provider of enterprise life safety and specialized commercial wireless systems, will demonstrate integration of its mobile duress pendants into Milestone XProtect® Enterprise video management software (VMS) in booth #16109 at ISC West 2014. The integration of Inovonics’ EMD with Milestone XProtect VMS connects duress events with video confirmation for greater insights into security and life-safety threats.

It also increases efficiencies by reducing response times to help strengthen an organization’s commitment to reducing workplace violence.

"Capturing a panic event for personnel under active duress with real-time video verification is a powerful game changer. This provides critical information to quickly assess a situation, gain further details and knowledge, and support a faster and more effective response. It helps personnel in healthcare, hospitality and many other industries be more safe and secure," said Reinier Tuinzing, Strategic Alliance Manager, Americas, Milestone Systems.

When a panic button is activated, the integrated solution will instantly notify security personnel by providing a live video stream based on the location of the duress alert.

Directly incorporating a video feed into the VMS system will improve the ability to assess and determine appropriate response levels, speed overall assistance and help organizations leverage existing systems to expand their in-building and on-grounds people protection efforts.

"Working with Milestone Systems, an industry leader in video management software, supports our mission to advance the adoption and value of mobile duress systems across the security ecosystem,” said Michael Slack, vice president of technology and business development at Inovonics. “This integrated solution directly links mobile panic alerts with fixed video cameras further enhancing physical security efforts.” […]
