ipConfigure’s Orchid VMS: Built To Run Anywhere

ipconfigure

ipConfigure Orchid is a revolutionary new IP video management platform that operates on a variety of embedded devices including the Axis Camera Application Platform and many other ARM or MIPS-based embedded platforms. Orchid leverages a light-weight cross-platform architecture that allows it to operate on low cost, lower power devices while delivering the same features and experience offered by Orchid on traditional servers.

With an interactive multi-touch user interface, operators can intuitively control and manage surveillance cameras from a web browser interface. Orchid on embedded devices offers superior performance over traditional VMS architectures.

By placing the VMS as close to the camera as possible, unreliable data throughput, vulnerable cable runs, and costly network infrastructure are all mitigated by Orchid’s model of reliability through proximity.

Additionally, by placing Orchid at the edge, it provides both recording and storage redundancy to cloud- and server-based VMS installations.

With its small memory footprint and modest CPU requirements, Orchid is able to run on a diverse set of devices, ranging from traditional servers, to IP cameras, to network-attached storage appliances, to WAN/broadband devices, and will be on demonstration at the 2014 ISC-West physical security tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada from April 2nd – 4th in the ipConfigure booth #17089.
