Moxa has launched its new VPort 06-2 and VPort P16-2MR series rugged IP-cameras to fulfill all of your onboard CCTV system requirements. The cameras support 1080P HD video resolutions and are EN 50155 certified. The wide-temperature models have operating temperatures from -40 to 70°C, ensuring reliability and safety for railway operations under extreme temperatures. For mission-critical applications, such as the 24/7 video surveillance required in the driver’s compartment, the VPort P16-2MR series features a built-in IR illuminator and Infrared Cutfilter Removal (ICR) to ensure crystal clear images during the day and night.

Extreme Reliability for Onboard Applications
Onboard environments are not ideal for filming, especially when conditions such as extreme temperatures, high electromagnetic disturbances from passing rolling stock, and dust or water particles interfere with the CCTV system. Moxa’s VPort 06-2 and VPort P16-2MR series are industrial-grade IP cameras that provide reliability in extreme environments. Compliance with essential sections of EN 50155*, IK8/EN 62262 compliance for vandal-proofing, IP66 dust and rain protection, -40 to 70°C (TX models) operating temperature, and an H.264/MJPEG IP dome give the cameras the versatility and ruggedness needed for IP video surveillance onboard trains.

Superior Image Quality under Any Lighting Conditions
As the lighting conditions onboard a train will vary as the vehicle passes through a variety of different environments, including tunnels, open air, and shade, the IP-cameras installed onboard should be able to maintain a consistent image quality as the lighting conditions change. In addition, the cameras should be able to capture a wide dynamic range of light and dark images, and reduce noise and motion blur. Moxa’s VPort 06-2 and VPort P16-2MR series support 1080P HD video resolutions, and use imaging technologies including an advanced Auto Exposure (AE) algorithm, DNR (Digital Noise Reduction), BLC (Backlight Compensation), and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) to provide clear pictures onboard trains. Moreover, the VPort P16-2MR series delivers vibrant color images during the day and the built-in IR illuminator ensures high resolution black and white images at night.
