Pelco?s New Esprit Series Available With IP and HD Capabilities

Pelco by Schneider Electric recently announced that its industry-leading Esprit® Series integrated positioning system is now available in IP and high-definition (HD) with the new Esprit HD Series IP Positioning System.

The Esprit HD provides users with crystal-clear, live streaming of images over the Internet using a standard web browser and delivers on the industry’s need for excellent performance and image qualify in all settings, including rugged environments.

This news builds on Pelco by Schneider Electric’s existing IP-camera solutions that are designed for any lighting condition, application, environment and reinforces the company’s commitment to being IP-driven, customer-focused.

“For more than a decade, the Esprit Series has been a standard for high-performance, integrated PTZ camera systems among security professionals,” said Craig Dahlman, director of accessory products, Schneider Electric, Pelco Video Line of Business. “We’re excited to now offer this industry favorite to our customers with IP compatibility and high-definition video surveillance with six times the resolution of standard definition positioning systems.”

The latest advancements provide seamless integration into virtually any IP-based HD system through customizable settings and are ideal to view details such as faces, license plates, casino playing cards, and more.

Advancements include:
• Exceptional Image clarity: Esprit 1080p HD features up to 1920 x 1080 Resolution; 16:9 Aspect Ratio; 1080p at 30 (ips) and 2.0 Megapixel (MPx), 30X Optical Zoom, 12X Digital Zoom, and wide dynamic range technology. Esprit HD 1080p is an ideal solution when rugged environmental performance and excellent image quality are mission critical.

• User-Defined Customization: Through built-in analytic tools, the Esprit HD system can be programmed with multiple Pelco behaviors and scheduled to work within predetermined times or conditions specific to a business? needs. For example, a camera can be configured with ?Object Counting? to count the number of people that enter a lobby door throughout the day, then adjusted in the evening to detect ?Camera Sabotage? to trigger an alarm if a camera is moved or obstructed. Additional customization is available through settings, such as ?Window Blanking,? which is used to conceal user-defined privacy areas that cannot be viewed by an operator. The system comes standard with nine preloaded Pelco behaviors. Pelco analytic tools are compatible with Endura and other third-party systems that support alarms using the Pelco API.

• Protected Camera Optics and Electronics: A powder-coated, aluminum construction protects the Esprit HD, making it ideal for indoor and or outdoor applications. The Esprit HD also features a receiver, pan/tilt capabilities and is available with either an Integrated Optics Package (IOP) or a pressurized Integrated Optics Cartridge (IOC) in a single, easy-to-install system. The IOP can provide complete environmental protection and the pressurized IOC can shield camera optics and electronics from moisture and airborne contaminants. Within two hours after powering-up, the entire unit can de-ice and become operational starting at temperatures as low as ?25
