Verkada has appointed Mark Coates as Vice President of EMEA, tasking him with leading regional strategy, operations, and go-to-market execution across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The appointment supports Verkada’s continued expansion as demand accelerates for cloud-based, AI-powered physical security solutions across the region.
In his new role, Coates will focus on scaling Verkada’s customer and partner ecosystem while driving regional momentum among enterprises and fast-growing organizations seeking to modernize security and building operations.
Experienced Enterprise Technology Leadership
Coates brings nearly 30 years of experience in enterprise technology and security leadership. He joins Verkada from Gigamon, where he most recently served as Vice President of EMEA.
During his tenure, he restructured the regional organization, delivered sustained double-digit revenue growth, and achieved three consecutive years of record performance, earning VP and Region of the Year honors from 2022 through 2024.
Prior to Gigamon, Coates served as Vice President of North and West EMEA at Digital Realty, where he helped drive more than 30% revenue growth and played a key role in integrating Interxion following its $8.5 billion acquisition.
Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at DTEX Systems, Veritas Technologies, Good Technology, and Symantec, building and scaling EMEA sales organizations through major market shifts.
Strengthening Verkada’s EMEA Growth Strategy

Coates succeeds Ardon Anderson, Verkada’s former Vice President of EMEA, who will pursue a new leadership opportunity in North America.
During his tenure, Anderson significantly expanded Verkada’s regional footprint, growing the EMEA business by more than 700% and launching operations across the Middle East, DACH, and Southern Europe.
Advancing Cloud-Based Physical Security
