Did you know that the global installed base of security cameras was estimated at 245 million cameras in 2014?
This was the headline number from our most recent research report on the video surveillance camera installed base. This report used over a decade of IHS video surveillance data to size the installed base of analog, network, and HD CCTV security cameras. There is a free white paper from IHS on the subject at the link at the bottom of this article (https://www.ihs.com/info/0615/video-surveillance-methodology.html).
In May, IHS published its annual market shares for video surveillance equipment. Moreover, we also launched the premium version of our video surveillance intelligence service which incorporates all of our regional video surveillance data into our global coverage.
Other reports published in the first half of 2015 included:
- Thermal security cameras.
- End-user reports on retail and airports.
- Regional video surveillance reports on East Europe, Russia and Oceania.
In the second half of 2015, we will continue to focus on technology markets with new reports on mobile video surveillance and body worn cameras, VSaaS (Video Surveillance as a Service), video analytics (VCA), and external storage all due to be published. We will also continue our coverage of end-user markets, with reports on Safe Cities and the critical infrastructure market due for release.
