PSIA’s PKOC Demonstrated at GSX 2024

The PSIA had another impressive and compelling demonstration of its PKOC spec at GSX 2024. Some of the leading lock and physical access control (PACS) vendors were able to see PKOC in action, with commercially available readers, cards, and apps all relying on the open specification, showing seamless interoperability.  The simplicity of PKOC, ease of integration, and the significant advantage of asymmetric encryption were some of the drivers that were most interesting to the companies and customers who were able to see the demonstration.

Doordeck Joins PSIA Board

Doordeck has joined the Board of the PSIA. The company has an innovative product that enables smartphone NFC keyless entry for buildings, regardless of which access control system is installed. The company, based in London, England, was established in 2015, and its products and services have been integrated in buildings throughout the world. It is a subsidiary of Sentry Interactive of Austin, Texas.

The PSIA Approves PKOC Card

The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) announced it has approved the Public Key Open Credential (PKOC) NFC Card Specification-Version 1.1. The PSIA has been working with a broad group of industry leaders in the card, reader, and access control industries to come up with this specification, which is likely to have a significant influence on the future of secure credentials.

PSIA Launches PKOC in a Minute

Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) released a PKOC explainer video to its site. This video is less than a minute long and demonstrates how the PSIA’s PKOC specification works and will disrupt the access control market. While the PKOC specification is less than three years old, already there are commercial customers in government, energy, and commercial real estate specifying and implementing the PKOC specification in products.

ASIS International and SIA Reveal 2024 Security LeadHER Conference Details

PSIA Shows Free, Interoperable Mobile Credential at ISC West PLAI and PKOC Open Standards Event

On Wednesday, March 29, the Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) will host a special event highlighting its Physical Logical Access Interoperability (PLAI) specification and its Public Key Open Credential (PKOC) specification. PLAI allows the normalizing of identity data across disparate Physical Access Control Systems (PACS). PKOC is a very exciting initiative, providing a free, interoperable mobile credential, which is likely to usher in a new era in the security market.
