First and foremost Vicon develops and sells security products to provide a safer and more secure environment. Through the nearly 50 years of its existence, Vicon has made strides in technology and service, including gaining greater situational awareness, providing a robust product line for all security needs, and through this we have seen that video has been used to optimize business processes.

With an increase in society’s concern over security, crime, and terrorism data trends and tracking have become much more important. Therefore, reliable and timely recording, user event and alarm configuration, storage, transfer, and analysis of video have become essential for business security. Not only has video been used for security, it has also been utilized by our users to gain greater business awareness for their own benefit. For instance, a supermarket can use surveillance to track foot traffic and price endcaps or a campus environment can use surveillance in the form of crowd control for the big game. These are just several applications that Vicon’s solutions help to save or contain business costs.
