Unified platform streamlines security operations across the 300-acre Hollywood Park campus while strengthening collaboration between IT and security teams
Genetec has announced that SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park have unified their physical security operations using Genetec Security Center, creating a centralized platform that streamlines security management across the 3.1 million-square-foot stadium and the surrounding 300-acre entertainment campus.
The deployment integrates video surveillance, access control, automatic license plate recognition (ALPR), and other physical security technologies into a single platform, improving situational awareness, operational efficiency, and collaboration between security and IT teams.
Centralized Security Across Hollywood Park
Home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, SoFi Stadium hosts major sporting events, concerts, and entertainment experiences throughout the year.
To support these large-scale operations, the organization standardized on Genetec Security Center, enabling operators to manage security systems across the stadium and Hollywood Park from three centralized security control rooms.
The deployment includes:
- More than 3,000 security cameras
- Over 700 access control readers
- Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR)
- Multiple security systems and sensors
- Three integrated security control rooms
The unified approach helps security personnel maintain real-time situational awareness while simplifying daily operations.
Faster Decision-Making Through Unified Operations
By consolidating multiple security technologies into one interface, security operators can respond to incidents more efficiently.
Nick Bermensolo, Vice President of Security and Safety at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, said:
“Genetec Security Center has improved our response time efficiency by giving us all the information we need in one platform. We’re able to understand what’s happening and make decisions quickly.”
Strengthening IT And Security Collaboration
The deployment has also improved coordination between the stadium’s IT and security teams.
Security Center operates on an isolated network connected to centralized servers, providing a reliable and cybersecure infrastructure. During major events, the IT team monitors system performance from the Network Operations Center (NOC), ensuring continuous platform availability while security personnel focus on operational activities.
Paul Maldonado, Vice President of IT Infrastructure and Operations at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, said:
“The Genetec team doesn’t just understand physical security systems, but IT systems too. With their help, we’ve been able to deploy a reliable and high-performing security platform at scale.”
Building A Scalable Security Platform
Looking ahead, SoFi Stadium plans to expand its use of Genetec Security Center by exploring AI-driven capabilities and additional automation to further improve operational efficiency and cybersecurity.
Maldonado added:
“Genetec has really helped us establish a technology standard. Security Center is reliable and cybersecure, integrates well with our network, and reduces overhead for both IT and security. That’s the type of technology we want to continue implementing across our business.”
