Synology Inc. today announced the official release of Surveillance Station 6.1, the latest version of their surveillance package. ‘Surveillance Station 6.1 is a significant release, which improves performance and efficiency in operation, while paving the way to a more frequent and flexible camera support,’ said Vic Hsu, CEO of Synology Inc.

Surveillance Station 6.1 offers: Optimum live-view experience: Designed to replace Java, Surveillance Web Plugin on Windows now supports Internet Explorer in addition to Chrome and Firefox, providing an up to 5 times boost to the loading performance, while enabling users to simultaneously watch up to 49 live channels in full HD quality. Multiple live-view windows are now applicable, granting users the freedom to apply different layouts in various screens.

Easy, intuitive navigation: On-screen operations, including PTZ for up to 32 directions, absolute position, focus, and iris-adjustment, are available. E-map management is reinforced with camera preview. Auto daylight saving mode is now supported in Timeline. Flexible camera configurations: Users can balance the streaming performance and area of interest via the option of field of view (FOV), and have better control over the bandwidth with different bitrate settings.

Multiple code engines are supported, allowing live view and recording streams being set in different performance profiles. RTSP/RTP Tunneling Protocol enables users to choose among four protocols (Auto, UDP, TCP and HTTP) to determine how to connect to the camera. […]
