Allied Universal recently announced the acquisition of Norred & Associates, Inc. – a Atlanta, Georgia-based full-service security firm. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. With revenues in excess of $36 million and more than 830 employees, Norred & Associates has been providing clients with a full range of security services encompassing manned guarding, investigations, pre-employment screening and security consulting.

Allied Universal Acquires New York-Based MSA Security

Allied Universal announced the execution of a definitive agreement to acquire New York-based MSA Security (MSA) from GreyLion, a middle market private equity firm focused on investing in leading high-growth businesses. MSA is a provider of comprehensive threat protection solutions to clients nationwide including K9 security services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Tim Brandt as New Global CFO at Allied Universal

Allied Universal hired Tim Brandt as the company’s Global CFO. Brandt will lead the financial operations of the company, and will focus on the upcoming acquisition and integration of G4S, and the eventual IPO of the newly consolidated company. Prior to joining Allied Universal, Brandt worked for 30 years with Deloitte and was the Managing Partner of the Orange County practice for the last four years of his career.

Allied Universal announced the acquisition of Security Integration, Inc., a security systems company based in San Rafael, Calif. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Security Integration, Inc. provides innovative electronic security solutions to help solve complex security challenges for a wide variety of customers across northern California.

Bidding War for G4S Takeover Comes to a Close

February 2021 saw a bidding war for G4S between Allied Universal and GardaWorld come to a close. Allied’s bid of GBP 3.8 bn at 245 pence per share, backed by private equity firm Warburg Pincus and Canadian pension fund Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec, won the auction as GardaWorld did not increase its offer of 235 pence per share. G4S’ board has supported Allied’s bid and has made a recommendation for its shareholders to vote to accept the acquisition. The merger is set to result in a private security services Goliath with worldwide reach.

Allied Universal Acquires Atlanta-Based SecurAmerica

Allied Universal announced the acquisition of SecurAmerica a privately held, Atlanta, Georgia-based security company with 49 offices located throughout the United States. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. SecurAmerica was founded by Frank Argenbright, a Georgia entrepreneur who, over the past 40 years, has built both security and facilities management companies with operations around the world, beginning with Argenbright Security in 1979.

Leading Security Guard Companies Looking To Buy Each Other

UK’s G4S, U.S.’s Allied Universal, and Canada’s GardaWorld are all in negotiations to buy one another. In the estimated US$244-billion global human security guard market, Allied Universal’s approximate US$4-billion acquisition of G4S is being rejected as “inadequate.” Allied Universal on Oct. 28 tabled a “highly conditional indicative offer” of at least 210 pence per share, subject to due diligence.

Headquartered in New Jersey with additional offices in Manhattan and Long Island, SWI provides end-to-end service, from design to maintenance, to clients in the commercial, education, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and government institutions across the United States.

PSSI, with revenues exceeding $16 million and 35 employees, is known as one of the premiere integrators for Access Control, Digital Video, Optical Turnstiles, and Intercom systems in the nation.

Security Guard Catches Child from Burning Apartment Building

An off-duty Allied Universal security guard, Phillip Blanks, caught a three-year-old child who was dropped from a burning apartment in Phoenix last week. As smoke and flames engulfed the apartment, Blanks saw what was happening and ran towards the building. Cellphone video shows Blanks running toward the building, where the third story apartment was engulfed. A woman believed to be the child’s mother desperately dropped him off the third-floor balcony.
