C Spire, a leading 5G technology service provider, announced a partnership today with Siklu, a market leader in mmWave wireless solutions, to use multi-gigabit wireless technology to backhaul high speed internet service to thousands of homes and businesses in Mississippi. C Spire is using Siklu solutions to extend existing fiber optic assets for last mile connections in neighborhoods and business districts in over 150 Mississippi towns and communities as part of a push to rapidly bring the next-generation services to more consumers and businesses at affordable prices.
Siklu announced that its radios have been selected by Israel Police as their main wireless fiber solution. These systems were selected for nationwide deployments as well as temporary events for the purpose of backhauling HD video surveillance systems and advanced sensors. The Israel Police, as police forces all over the world, face a considerable challenge when it comes to deploying a camera array at a city’s main centers within a short timeframe.
Siklu announced Smart City deployments based on Siklu’s broad E-band and V-band product portfolio have reached a milestone of 100 cities installed. Smart Cities, which were initially defined as municipalities connecting low data rate sensors for water, gas and more, have been evolving to demand high-capacity connectivity at gigabit-per-second speed. This high-bandwidth network infrastructure is needed to support new applications such as video security, public Wi-Fi backhaul, and private city network deployments. As municipalities move to support an increase in public safety cameras and improved connectivity between public buildings such as police, fire, schools, and libraries, the networks are being upgraded.
Siklu announced that its MultiHaul™ auto-aligned radios, were selected by the City of Wichita to provide the wireless connectivity for 72 fixed bullet, dome and PTZ cameras from Axis Communication which make up the surveillance network deployed in the city’s Old Town district.
