NEC Corporation of America announced that it was recognized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)-sponsored Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) for adopting leading forensic science standards for utilizing biometric systems, including face recognition technology and other biometric matching algorithms. NEC’s technology is used as a biometric solution by numerous law enforcement agencies and federal government organizations as a leading national security tool.
