SAFR to Showcase Latest Version of Computer at ISC West 2021
At ISC West 2021, SAFR from RealNetworks will showcase the latest version of its high-performance computer vision platform. Attendees will be able to see demonstrations of SAFR for Surveillance featuring VMS integrations with Genetec, and SAFR Inside edge integrations with Axis cameras as well as NVIDIA and Android platforms. SAFR for Access Control will also be on display along with a new Passive Liveness detection feature.

SAFR from RealNetworks announced a new version of SAFR, the world’s foremost facial recognition solution for live video, offering accurate, fast, unbiased face recognition and additional computer vision features. Available now, SAFR version 3.4 introduces new passive liveness detection and anti-spoofing features, for both masked and unmasked faces, to enhance security for face biometric authentication solutions. The new version also includes SMS watchlist alarms.

SAFR from RealNetworks announced improved face detection and recognition accuracy for both masked and unmasked faces with the release of SAFR 3.0. Available now, SAFR’s 3.0 release introduces a new default high sensitivity face detector. Customers running the high sensitivity face detector will see a 95.1% detection rate and 98.85% recognition accuracy rate for faces covered by PPE face masks.
CBX Chooses SAFR from RealNetworks To Enhance Terminal Efficiency
Otay-Tijuana Venture LLC has chosen SAFR from RealNetworks’ video analytics technology to be used throughout the San Diego – Tijuana terminal in order to optimize operations and improve passenger flow. The first building to connect the United States to a foreign airport terminal, CBX serves millions of passengers that cross the border as part of their trip, helping them avoid unforeseen delays in the congested border crossings of San Ysidro and Otay.
SAFR from RealNetworks Awarded $1.9M in Phase II Small Business Innovation Research Contracts from the USAF
SAFR announced it has been awarded two Phase II Small Business Innovation Research contracts of approximately $950k each or $1.9M in total from AFWERX. These contracts provide funding to adapt the SAFR platform for use by the Air Force for perimeter security and secure access. Once developed for the USAF, the SBIR/STTR program allows for any other federal agency to award a sole-source contract for technology developed under the program. SAFR will be enhanced to integrate real-time facial recognition across a range of fixed and mobile device embedded cameras
RealNetworks Appoints José Larrucea as Senior Vice-President of International Sales
SAFR from RealNetworks announced the appointment of José Larrucea as Senior Vice-President of International Sales covering both Sales and Business Development in the EMEA and Latin America regions. Following his success building the SAFR business in Latin America, Larrucea will now also be responsible for driving the company’s ambitious growth plans throughout EMEA. Larrucea brings over 20 years’ experience working in technology startups.
