ONVIF has announced the Release Candidate for its Media Signing Add-on, a standards-based approach designed to help the security industry verify the authenticity, origin, and integrity of surveillance video. The technology enables network video devices to cryptographically sign video at the point of creation, allowing verification tools to determine whether footage has remained unaltered and trace it back to its source.
