Telekom Srbija Deploys a Nationwide Multi-Technology IoT Public Network with Actility and Teri Engineering

Telekom Srbija is working with its partners Teri Engineering and Actility to deploy carrier-grade LoRaWAN and NB-IoT networks within the country.  Telekom Srbija is the largest telecom operator in Serbia, which provides services in the sphere of mobile and fixed telephony, internet, multimedia, and digital.

The LPWAN network provided by Telekom Srbija serves local industrial firms, energy providers, cities, municipalities, retail, and facility management, leveraging the vast ecosystem of LoraWAN and NB IoT devices. The network also targets smart city and industrial applications as well as the transmission of telemetry data from heat, water, gas, and electricity meters.

Telekom Srbija has selected ThingPark Wireless, Actility’s technology-agnostic LPWAN service management platform with unified management interfaces for Cellular IoT and LoRaWAN access networks to operate both the LoRaWAN and NB-IoT public networks in Serbia. By covering both unlicensed and licensed spectrum technologies, Telekom Srbija’s 360° IoT strategy is able to offer tailored connectivity for every use case, including the ones that require 10 to 15 years of operation on battery power, like water or gas metering.
