Software Update Includes New Heatmapping Feature for Wireless Devices
TRENDnet is announcing that its industrial managed switches now support remote cloud management through TRENDnet Hive™. This update also includes the addition of a new feature, heatmapping, for compatible wireless devices.
Hive compatibility for industrial switches launches with two of TRENDnet’s industrial network switches: the 12-Port Industrial Gigabit L2+ Managed PoE+ DIN-Rail Switch (TI-PG1284i), and the 6-Port Industrial Gigabit L2+ Managed PoE++ DIN-Rail Switch (TI-BG62i). Over the next few months, TRENDnet will continue to add remote cloud management support to its industrial managed switches. Upgrades will be available through firmware updates.
This update also includes heatmapping, a new TRENDnet Hive Pro Add-On feature for compatible wireless devices, designed to provide a visual overview of wireless devices. It shows users crucial data such as signal strength and coverage; it can also help to identify wireless dead zones. Heatmapping is an essential tool that guides users in planning and deploying wireless devices onto a network.
TRENDnet Hive allows users to monitor and manage their networks and network devices remotely from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. With TRENDnet Hive, users experience better overall visibility of their network devices from a single, intuitive, and easy-to-use interface. Features include setting notifications and alerts, detailed reporting tools, view user and traffic statistics, device analysis, and more.
All new purchases of TRENDnet Hive compatible products come with a one-year free trial. A Pro Add-On can be purchased to add support for multiple users, multiple tenancies, and location tracking. TRENDnet Hive is also compatible with select web smart switches, access points, a PDU, and routers.
TRENDnet’s industrial switches, wireless solutions, and other Hive-compatible devices are available for purchase online on the TRENDnet Store, and worldwide through its authorized distributors, VARs, and retail partner. Firmware upgrades for the industrial managed switches should be completed by Q2 2025.
