Joseph Grillo is best known as the founder of ACRE, LLC, established in 2012 to consolidate strategic security technology acquisitions. ACRE’s portfolio included Mercury Security, which shared a similar business model to Azure Access. Under Grillo’s leadership, Mercury experienced rapid expansion and market growth.
Prior to founding ACRE, Grillo held senior roles at HID, leading a management buyout in 1995 and scaling the company from $15 million to $100 million before its acquisition by ASSA ABLOY in 2001. He later managed ASSA ABLOY’s $750 million Global Technology Division and served as President and Board Member of the Security Industry Association (SIA) from 1998 to 2007.
