Kansas School District Strengthens Security Infrastructure with Proactive Solution Funded Through State Firearm Detection Grant Program
Goessel USD 411, a Kansas school district serving approximately 285 students across two campuses, has deployed ZeroEyes AI gun detection and intelligent situational awareness technology to strengthen security and help protect students, staff, and visitors from gun-related threats.
The district secured funding through the Kansas Safe and Secure Firearm Detection Grant Program, administered by the Office of the Kansas Attorney General. The funding enabled the district to implement ZeroEyes in coordination with local law enforcement and community leaders.

AI-Powered Gun Detection
ZeroEyes technology integrates with existing digital security cameras to provide proactive gun detection without requiring the district to replace its current camera infrastructure.
When the system identifies a potential gun, images are sent to the ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), which operates 24/7/365 and is staffed by trained U.S. military and law enforcement veterans.
If the threat is verified, alerts and actionable intelligence—including the visual description, weapon type, and last known location—are sent to law enforcement and designated school officials.
The system is designed to help reduce the time between weapon detection and notification, which can be particularly valuable for rural districts where geographic distance and limited local resources can create challenges for emergency response.
