Irisbond has launched Hiru, the world’s first eye tracking technology that is compatible with any device regardless of operating system. With Hiru, anyone can operate devices with just a single glance from a computer to an ATM machine, an elevator or an access control system in an office building.

Irisbond’s innovative eye tracking technology provides a new hands-free way of communicating with the world around us, which is proving crucial given the devastating impact of COVID-19.

Advanced AI-based software algorithms, combined with state-of-the-art hardware, capture eye movement and translate it into precise actions on a user interface. The initiation process is very intuitive and fast, calibrating the user’s eye in just a few seconds.

According to research by MarketsandMarkets, the eye tracking market is estimated to grow from $368 million in 2020 to $1.09 billion in 2025, tripling in just five years. Especially noteworthy is the high demand for this type of technology in the healthcare and marketing sector, both for personalized advertisements and behavior monitoring.

“With Hiru, companies have the freedom to design and integrate eye tracking capabilities into any type of technology,” said Eduardo Jauregui, CEO and co-founder of Irisbond.

“This will accelerate the introduction of more inclusive products in the market by reducing cost and time, while increasing usability. We believe that touchless technology like Hiru offers new opportunities to create a safer, more inclusive world, especially in a pandemic-conscious environment.”

Irisbond is closing key contracts agreements for Hiru to be used in various industries, such as neuromarketing, automotive, academic research, industry 4.0, smart homes, robotics, healthcare, and education.

Irisbond is also collaborating with the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to refine the development of AI-based algorithms for future eye-tracking applications.

In 2019, Irisbond was awarded a prestigious six-month fellowship by the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), which enabled the company to accelerate and develop its eye-tracking technology for international expansion.

Hiru is a multiplatform device that can connect to a variety of operating systems, and it will be available for pre-orders starting November 17 on https://www.irisbond.com/.
