March Networks Launches Compact, All-IP Video Recording Platform For Advanced Bus Surveillance And Incident Investigation

RideSafe MT Series IP Recorders ideal for mid-sized and paratransit agencies as part of a complete IP video management solution for mobile and wayside environments

March Networks®, a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, announced a new video recording platform purpose-built to capture high-definition IP video and integrated vehicle data in demanding bus environments.

March Networks RideSafe™ MT Series IP Recorders provide transportation agencies with sharp megapixel video evidence, automated wireless downloading, Power over Ethernet, and innovative search and investigation capabilities, all while maintaining the exceptional reliability and ease of service customers have come to expect from March Networks.

Available in 4 and 6-channel models, the compact IP recorders are ideal for mid-sized vehicles and paratransit fleets ready to transition to all-IP video capture. They complement the company?s complete IP video solution for mobile and wayside environments, which currently includes mobile IP cameras, mobile peripherals, and hybrid video recorders. All the products integrate seamlessly and are centrally managed with powerful March Networks Command? Enterprise video management software.

Continuing March Networks? commitment to intelligent video solutions that extend beyond traditional security applications, the RideSafe MT Series IP Recorders also integrate with vehicle Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) data. Transit agencies can use the solution to search for recorded events including vehicle hardbrakes, speed, GPS location, door malfunctions and driver-tagged incidents, and review these incidents along with the associated video. The clear video and metadata enable fleet operators to investigate complaints, liability claims and other events quickly and cost-effectively to see what actually occurred and arm themselves with compelling video evidence.

?The new RideSafe MT recorders address a need in the transportation market for a high-performance recording platform that offers pure IP video support in a form factor and channel count ideal for mid-sized transit vehicles,? said Dan Cremins, March Networks? Global Product Management Leader. ?Consistent with the complete approach we take to video solutions, these new recorders also deliver the advanced integration, investigation and reliability features so critical to today?s fleet management.?

To ensure video is always there when needed, the new RideSafe MT Series recorders incorporate an embedded Linux OS to eliminate unnecessary background services, front-panel diagnostic LEDs, solid state disk drives and internal battery backup. In addition, they are rated to withstand the wide temperature ranges, humidity, shock, vibration and other environmental pressures common on mobile vehicles, and support enterprise-class remote health monitoring via the Command software.

March Networks will showcase the RideSafe MT Series IP Recorders as part of its complete transportation solution at the BusCon 2017 Expo, September 12-13, in Indianapolis, IN, and at the APTA Expo, October 9-11 in Atlanta, GA.
