St. James School benefits from Verint VMS

Verint Systems Inc. has announced that St. James School, a private Catholic school in Stratford, CT, is benefiting from its use of the Verint Video Management Software (VMS) solution by boosting security and helping safeguard students and staff. Established 65 years ago to serve the educational, spiritual, and social needs of students in pre-K to eighth grades, St. James School has continued to grow and make security a top priority.

“After recent tragedies throughout the education community, we began to investigate surveillance solutions more seriously, recognizing the need to make our campus more secure and safe,” says James Gieryng, principal, St. James School. “With Verint’s video management solution, we are able to effectively monitor our entire facility —inside and out— to better protect our students and faculty.”

In December 2013, the school replaced its previous camera solution that only monitored the front entrance with new video surveillance cameras inside the building, as well as outside to cover all key areas, including entrances, the gymnasium, cafeteria, parking lot, and playground.

Each of the cameras is integrated with Verint Video Management Software. With the new Verint solution, St. James School can monitor live and recorded video from desktops and two large monitors in the main office.

The solution also helps streamline video security operations and helps users analyze video and security data. It offers policy-based video distribution, networked video viewing and investigation management to help staff rapidly detect, act on and investigate security breaches and other potential threats.
