In an interaction with CIOL, Ranjit Nambiar, director of sales, India and SAARC, HID Global shared insights on applications of NFC technology day-to-day businesses that are set to take off in India. Excerpts: CIOL: Can you share with us your journey from RFID cards to NFC Ranjit Nambiar: HID Global comes with an identity security background, which means, we are into the business of basically securing identities. Identities could be in any form. It could be in biometrics, access control, IT authentication, card control. If you look at the core of our technology, most of the solutions of what we have, Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is one of them. We extensively use RFID with respect to secure identity solution. We have other businesses also, which are non RFID centric.
