Wavestore has released v6.14 of its open-platform and highly secure Linux-based Video Management Software (VMS). Multiple cameras can now be configured and set to record in a matter of seconds thanks to a completely revised camera setup screen. Separate camera groups can be created and used to quickly apply common settings, such as stream parameters, recording framerate and quality settings, to all cameras in the group at the same time.
In a challenging economic climate and with end-users understandably demanding maximum ROI from their investment in video surveillance systems, it might be time for installers to take a closer look at how 360° cameras could give them a competitive edge. Simply put, 360° fisheye lens cameras are able to reduce the cost of video surveillance in many situations as they can be used to monitor very wide or large areas. Cost savings are achieved by significantly reducing the number of cameras needed for video surveillance projects in environments such as airports, hospitals, large office reception areas, retail and public spaces.
Wavestore’s contribution to the effectiveness of video surveillance systems at three of the largest football stadiums in Montevideo, Uruguay, has been recognised by an award from the Asociación Latinoamericana de Seguridad (ALAS). The Best Latin American Private Security Project award was won jointly by Wavestore, the British manufacturer of open platform video management solutions, and its partners in the project, DDBA, a leading security and IT infrastructure systems integrator in Uruguay and Herta, a provider of state of the art facial recognition software.
A technology partnership formed between SALTO and Wavestore is enabling operators to instantly visually verify the identity of anyone attempting to gain access to a site or sensitive areas of a building. The successful integration of the two companies’ software platforms means users of SALTO Access Control are now able to view event-driven video captured by cameras connected to the Linux based and open platform Wavestore Video Management Software (VMS).
Wavestore and analytics experts Facit Data Systems have formed a technology partnership to help organisations comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when managing their surveillance system. The GDPR regulation stipulates any person whose image is recorded on a video surveillance system has a right to seek and be supplied with a copy of their own personal data from the footage. However, the identity of any other individuals who also feature in any part of that footage need to be protected when the recording is shared with a third party.
Wavestore has also introduced a host of new integrations to it’s VMS. These include the latest Smart IP-camera feature sets from Uniview, bringing functionality like face detection, line crossing, advanced motion detection, scene change notifications and more, which can be set to trigger specific actions on event. The full video analytics suite from AllGoVision is now fully integrated to deliver a cost-effective all-in-one analytics package for a wide range of applications and individual detection zones from Optex Redscan detectors can now be associated with specific actions.
Measuring just 115mm x 111mm x 52mm (4.5in x 4.4in x 2in) and weighing in at just 1.2Kg (2.65lbs) with near-silent, operation, the A-Series NVRs may be compact and unobtrusive but they still pack a punch. With the ability to record up to 8 x 1080P HD cameras, they run Wavestore’s WaveView client software locally, allowing users to view live and recorded images directly from a unit for day-to-day standalone operation. In addition, users are able to log-in remotely using WaveView client software from their PCs or laptops, or while on the go, via the WaveView Mobile app available for iOS and Android devices.
Wavestore’s new NVR video storage units have been designed to meet the widest possible range of small, medium and large video surveillance applications and come pre-installed with Wavestore V6. With the option to upgrade or expand at any time in the future without having to reinstall the software, users can choose from Base, Premium, or Enterprise levels and select the exact number of camera licenses required for the application at hand.
A recently established technology partnership with Videalert adds to Wavestore’s open platform video management software. The firms say that the interoperability between Wavestore’s software and Videalert’s Intelligent Digital Traffic Management platform offers local authorities and police a tool to collaborate and share video surveillance, whilst achieving a faster return on investment.
