Allegion Launches Campus-To-Community Student Living Solution

Unified, mobile-first ecosystem redefines student living experience from campus to couch

Allegion US has introduced its new Campus-to-Community Student Living solution, a mobile-first ecosystem designed to help off-campus student housing operators improve security, streamline operations, and deliver a connected resident experience.

The new platform aims to bridge the gap between on-campus and off-campus living by integrating hardware, mobile credentials, and software solutions into a single interoperable environment.

Mobile-First Experience For Student Housing

According to Tyler Webb, Mobile Ambassador at Allegion, the off-campus student housing sector faces unique operational and technology challenges.

“For years, off-campus student housing has been viewed as multifamily with younger residents, but the reality is much more complex. Operators are navigating compressed turnover cycles, rising demand for connected living experiences and disconnected tech systems.”

He explained that Campus-to-Community Student Living creates a unified ecosystem that connects the student experience “from campus to couch.”

Unified Access Across Campus And Community

At the center of the solution is a connected ecosystem that combines trusted hardware, software, and mobile credential technologies.

Using Schlage’s Resident Key, available through Apple Wallet® and Google Wallet™, students can securely access residences, amenities, and campus facilities using:

  • iPhone® and Apple Watch®
  • Android™ phones
  • Wear OS smartwatches

The mobile-first system is designed to reduce fragmentation while enhancing security and convenience for both residents and operators.

Key Benefits For Student Housing Operators

Allegion stated that the Campus-to-Community platform is designed to provide several operational and financial advantages, including:

  • Streamlined resident turnover
  • Reduced rekeying costs
  • Fewer lockouts
  • Integrated property management workflows
  • Improved resident convenience
  • Enhanced security visibility and control for parents and operators

First Off-Campus Mobile Wallet Deployment

Earlier this year, Allegion partnered with Preiss, IRIS Technologies, and Quext to deploy the nation’s first off-campus student housing mobile wallet experience at The Collective at Norman, serving students at the University of Oklahoma.

Following the rollout, residents and property staff reported benefits including improved convenience, optimized operations, and fewer after-hours lockouts.
