ASSA ABLOY Glass Solutions Offers Designers And Architects More Options

ASSA ABLOY Logo

Glass openings offer an elegant and sophisticated aesthetic to commercial and office environments by incorporating natural light through innovative daylighting techniques that promote health and wellness.

This year at GlassBuild 2018, ASSA ABLOY will introduce a variety of new glass products that enable access to a space while remaining secure, creating an impressive and spacious environment.

First in the line-up is the new 304 Heavy-Duty Overhead Glass Closer that complements and expands the company’s existing line of overhead glass closers. Made from cast iron, the 304 was designed for use with interior glass doors weighing up to 300 pounds and exterior doors at 250 lbs.

This heavy-duty closer gives designers and architects added freedom, while ensuring security and reliability. Easy-to-install with spring size 4, the new 304 Heavy-Duty Glass Closer meets UL 228 requirements.

For existing glass openings that require a more secure latch solution, ASSA ABLOY created the Panic Device Security Latch Adapter, excellent for retail, corporate, government environments, etc.

The Panic Device Security Latch Adapter (SL100) offers improved security and reliability for existing panic devices with rolling latches. Designed as a retrofit solution for glass openings, this patent pending solid latch is installer-friendly and easily adjustable. Providing additional latch/strike engagement than roller latches, the SL100 is UL 305 listed.

ASSA ABLOY also introduced an ADA-compliant 2¾” Tapered Door Rail, which offers a low-profile design to showcase the beauty of glass. Designed with a top and bottom rail option, the one-piece compression system allows for easy and fast installation. This dry glaze pre-assembled rail includes precision, custom fabrication for compatible hardware.

From interior paint, to kitchen appliances, faucets and hardware, matte black has quickly become a popular finish for a multitude of interior and exterior designs.

ASSA ABLOY recently introduced a new Black Suede (BSP) finish, available across a large, multi-brand offering of door hardware, to offer customers a sophisticated elegance with a “suede-like” feel within the interior and exterior design environments.

“ASSA ABLOY is a leading manufacturer of door hardware including operators, openers, and closers and has been focused on delivering the same quality and selection for our glass solutions,” said Doug Thompson, General Manager, ASSA ABLOY Glass Solutions and Rockwood Products. “We pride ourselves on designing beautiful, yet durable products that address the demands and needs of our customers and are proud to have developed such a wide variety of hardware solutions for glass openings.”

At GlassBuild 2018, ASSA ABLOY will also be demoing a glass door hardware product configurator, showcasing the aforementioned products, and displaying a variety of Rockwood architectural pulls and locking pulls in a range of finishes and leather options.
