Ron Rothman, who recently retired as president of Honeywell Security Group after a 32-year career, will join New York integration firm AFA Protective as SVP in August.

With over 30 years of experience within the industry, including the past five years as President of Honeywell’s Security Group, Mr. Rothman brings to AFA a prominent and respected member of the national industry community.

Robert Kleinman, CEO of AFA, believes Mr. Rothman’s “…demonstrated ability to both innovate and motivate at top levels will provide the optimum springboard for AFA to maximize its future growth and success.”

In addition to his employment history, Mr. Rothman is an inductee into the Security Sales & Integration Hall of Fame, and is the most recent recipient of The Security Industry Alarm Coalition’s William N. Moody Award which recognizes individuals for advancing positive alarm management and best industry practices.

AFA has been in business for more than 100 years. It is a public company, but the Kleinman family owns a large percentage of the stock. It did $80 million in sales in 2014 and $2.5 in RMR. The company has 18 offices on the East Coast.

Historically, AFA has been a fire alarm company and “that’s still a very important component of what we do, particularly in the Northeast,” Kleinman said. Today, AFA is a full service security company that does a lot of CCTV and access control.
