Southwest Microwave announced a robust new plugin from Genetec Inc. that enables seamless integration between its INTREPID^™ Series II perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS) and the Genetec Security Center unified security platform.

The Southwest Microwave INTREPID RPM II Plugin provides interface to the INTREPID MicroPoint^™ II Fence Detection System, MicroTrack^™ II Buried Cable Detection System and MicroWave 330 Digital Microwave Sensor, optimizing flexibility and control for a range of security-sensitive perimeter protection applications.

The advanced user interface in Genetec Security Center allows operators to receive real-time notification of intrusion alarms or tamper attempts from INTREPID sensors, and to monitor video surveillance associated with these events, maximizing preparedness and response to perimeter breach or sabotage.

The system’s extensive graphic mapping tools enable clear association of sensors, detection zones and alarm information to user’s custom site maps, enhancing visual assessment capability.

As the industry’s highest performing detection systems, INTREPID MicroPoint II and MicroTrack II locate intrusion attempts to within 3 m (10 ft) while ignoring harmless disturbances such as wind, rain or vehicle traffic.

Camera presets within Security Center may be programmed to tie into INTREPID detection zones, providing immediate visual assessment of alarms at the precise location of the disturbance.

Additional actions can be executed when an alarm is triggered, such as displaying camera footage on the operator screen, automatically initiating video recording, and automating notifications to security personnel.

Genetec Security Center enables users to manage all of their security operations from a powerful and intuitive client interface which closely maps perimeter security infrastructure.

The platform incorporates access control, video surveillance and license plate recognition, as well as a range of third party security and business systems, for a completely unified management platform.

Southwest Microwave offers Software Development Kit (SDK) documentation to third-party developers at no charge for the INTREPID Series II fence, buried cable and microwave intrusion detection systems, enabling high-level interface of these solutions to security management systems, assessment technologies (CCTV / DVR) and other custom control applications.

The INTREPID MicroPoint Cable and MicroPoint II systems interface with Security Center through a serial connection from the MicroPoint Processor Module (PM) or Processor Module II (PM II) to the Security Center server hosting the MicroPoint Plugin role.
