OnSSI continues to expand the versatility of the Ocularis 5 Video Management System (VMS) via integration with Vidsys? Converged Security and Information Management (CSIM) software. The integration allows operators to respond to events more quickly and effectively while enabling more accurate and efficient post-event investigation.
?The combined power of OnSSI?s Ocularis VMS and Vidsys? CSIM solution provides operators with situational intelligence that enables faster, more effective responses to security events,? said Mulli Diamant, VP of International Business Development, OnSSI. ?Additionally, this integration is quick and easy to deploy and use, streamlining video surveillance and CSIM functions to deliver heightened situational awareness and improved overall security.?
Built on the Vidsys Ocularis Connector, this integration supports multiple versions of Ocularis, including the latest version (5.2.1), allowing CSIM operators to view real-time and recorded video from within the Vidsys software. Video can be displayed in response to manual user selection and can be automatically displayed when an event is detected and reported by CSIM-integrated access control, intrusion detection or other systems. Using the integrated solution, operators can control PTZ cameras and playback stored video using standardized controls across different video recorder products, and are also capable of defining, storing and bookmarking specific video clips and snapshots in CSIM situation folders for easier post-event analysis.
Ease of configuration and use are among the many key benefits of the integration between Ocularis and the Vidsys CSIM. For example, the Ocularis Connector automatically identifies recorder input video channels and any descriptive information stored with each. This provides Vidsys CSIM users with the ability to simply drag-and-drop video clips and data onto a hierarchical tree, as well as onto CSIM map backgrounds for automatic geolocation. Drag-and-drop functionality also allows operators to view and control video in window panes within the CSIM?s multiplexed display, so operators can easily switch between real-time and recorded video.
?By combining our Vidsys CSIM platform with Ocularis, we are able to deliver a scalable, end-to-end security solution in an intuitive, easy-to-use format that makes event response times both faster and more efficient,? said James I. Chong, CEO & Founder, Vidsys. ?We are extremely pleased to have worked closely with OnSSI to continue our partnership, and deliver this powerful and innovative integrated solution.?
Ocularis 5 is an intelligent, highly scalable VMS platform that simplifies workloads and system management. It provides the highest levels of network and video security with features including a scrambled recorded video database to protect the integrity of recorded video and the ability to record directly to a NAS anywhere on the network. There is no need to register camera licenses and MAC addresses with Ocularis, and it features automatic load balancing for managing recordings across system servers. Smart Camera Driver technology also provides out-of-the-box support for newly introduced cameras from many top camera manufacturers without requiring users to wait for manufacturers to write and release specific drivers, allowing customers to immediately take advantage of the newest, most advanced camera features. Unique to Ocularis, Critical Camera Failover ensures continuous sight by switching to a failover camera in as little as two seconds. Ocularis 5 also allows for multiple different recorders to be combined under the same Base (including legacy Ocularis 4.X recorders) with centralized user and event management.
