Qognify has announced the launch of its web-based central VMS management platform – Umbrella – for Ocularis. Ocularis customers with large or distributed video surveillance installations can now use Umbrella to centrally monitor and remotely manage and configure every VMS installation across their deployment. As video surveillance projects become larger and more complex, they also demand more resources and incur increasing operational costs.
Qognify has announced that it is enabling Southern Illinois University (SIU) to stream drone footage in real-time, securely, and with low latency. Integrating drones with its existing Ocularis video management system (VMS), also from Qognify, delivers additional operational, safety and security benefits including active shooter tests, evidence sharing, monitoring, maintenance and mapping.

Qognify announced that it has completed the acquisition of On-Net Surveillance Systems (OnSSI), including the pioneer of IP video technology – SeeTec GmbH. Backed by the global investment firm Battery Ventures, Qognify announced the agreement on December 22, 2018 and the deal closed on December 28, 2018. With Qognify, OnSSI and SeeTec operating under one umbrella, the company is today one of the largest VMS, Video Analytics, PSIM and Critical Incident Management companies in the world.

OnSSI announced that its Ocularis VMS v5.4 is now certified with the Lenel® OnGuard® v7.3 access control security system to enable seamless functionality for sending videos and events between platforms. This certification expands on OnSSI’s previous interface with Lenel’s OnGuard system and provides customers with a more comprehensive and effective physical security system option.

Mr. Martinez is a veteran of the security industry, with over 20 years of experience —12 years on the service/support side and 10 years in sales— where he developed, marketed, and sold security solutions throughout the United States. With experience gained during his earlier years as a field service technician, Mr. Martinez gained an in-depth knowledge of security solutions from inception to installation.

Ocularis 5, the latest Video Management Software (VMS) solution from OnSSI, now includes a dewarping plug-in for Axis Communications’ AXIS M30 series cameras with panoramic views. The Axis dewarping plug-in provides distortion-corrected images on both live and recorded video to deliver increased situational awareness and an improved overall viewing experience. In addition to viewing live and stored 360° video streams from Axis cameras, the plug-in also allows operators to electronically pan, tilt, and zoom images for enhanced viewing and forensic video investigation. Dewarping is also possible on quad and panoramic views.
OnSSI announces a technology partnership with Safety Vision, LLC, an industry leading vendor of mobile video surveillance solutions. The collaboration enables integration of Safety Vision’s RoadRecorder® 8000 mobile server with OnSSI’s Ocularis 5 VMS for viewing and management of cameras on a single mobile server in transportation applications. This allows users to integrate images from mobile camera systems installed in vehicles with stationary cameras on the Ocularis 5 VMS platform to deliver greatly improved situational awareness and documentation.
Ocularis 5.2, the latest version of OnSSI’s VMS software, now integrates with Software House C•CURE 9000 v2.40 and v2.50 security and event management system from Tyco Security Products, now part of Johnson Controls. OnSSI has completed all testing set forth to meet the highest standards for the integration. The integration of Ocularis 5 with C•CURE 9000 allows users to instantly launch video associated with access control events, investigate and verify activity at access points, and receive notification of events from the video system.
