Dedrone announced that it is the first counter-drone company to receive the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (SAFETY Act) Designation status from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of SAFETY Act Implementation (OSAI). ALCEA acquisition to complement ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions’ critical infrastructure offering

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions announced that French-based ALCEA (SAS), whose acquisition was made known in August this year, will be merged into Global Solutions’ Critical Infrastructure business. ALCEA has a strong focus on access control and relevant vertical markets. The parties will present their combined offering at the Expoprotection trade show in Paris, 15–17 November. ALCEA’s has a turnover of approximately 20 million euros. The company is well established in the French-speaking market, in addition to France, also in South America.

iTAK Now Available on App Store

Public safety agencies can now benefit from the Team Awareness Kit (TAK) to help save more lives. Originally developed by the Department of Defense (DoD), and subsequently funded and piloted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T), the iOS iTAK app, now available on the Apple App Store, is a geospatial mapping tool that first responders can use to see each other’s locations, and communicate and coordinate better. The Android version of the TAK application, ATAK, has supported hurricane relief, firefighting, national security events and daily public safety operations.
