Salient Systems Corporation, a leader in video surveillance solutions, is pleased to announce new, powerful direct attached storage (DAS) units for the PowerProtect PowerPlus and PowerUltra platform along with new extended warranty options for all hardware units.

The PowerDAS is a low cost, high-capacity direct attached storage offering that improves density and performance for capacity-intensive video surveillance applications.

The PowerDAS offers customers the flexibility to maximize the performance of CompleteView VMS in an easy to expand solution by matching the video storage requirements and drive configurations in seamless continuity.

“Salient is thrilled to offer competitive, next generation storage solutions which deliver the power required for state-of-the-art video management systems,” says Brian Carle, director of product strategy, Salient Systems. “PowerDAS units easily connect to PowerPlus or PowerUltra NVRs providing users a simple and cost effective way to increase video retention time,” adds Carle.

The PowerDAS units are available in 11TB, 22TB, 33TB and 44TB configurations. The 2U form factor is available in RAID 5 configuration and requires purchase of the DAS-Ext-RAID external RAID card for installation in the PowerPlus or PowerUltra servers.

Up to two PowerDAS units can be connected to a single PowerPlus or PowerUltra NVR allowing PowerProtect NVR configurations that scale to 128TB of available video storage.

Now more than ever, users are looking for differentiation when choosing video management solutions.

They expect a higher level of satisfaction—better performance, prices, quality and service.
