The security infrastructure has been installed across the 3.5-acre redevelopment in Syracuse’s Valley neighborhood, which will ultimately include four residential buildings with 140 apartments.
The first building is scheduled to begin leasing while construction and renovation efforts continue across the remaining property.
The completion of the security program represents a major milestone in transforming a property that previously experienced criminal activity and unauthorized occupancy. The redevelopment team has focused on creating a secure residential environment to support growing demand for quality rental housing in the greater Syracuse area.
Security Designed As A Foundation Of The Redevelopment

The security system includes 250 CCTV cameras positioned throughout the property and monitored around the clock by a professional security monitoring company.
A property manager is also present onsite 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing additional oversight and support for residents.
The Cortile’s parking area is protected by two CCTV cameras equipped with license plate recognition technology, allowing access only to authorized tenant vehicles. Six-foot perimeter fencing has also been installed around the property.
Emergency Access And Response Integration
The development team worked closely with emergency services to ensure rapid access during critical situations.
Officers from Syracuse Police assigned to the property’s sector have been provided with key fobs granting 24-hour access. Three lockboxes containing access fobs have also been installed for use by the Syracuse Fire Department during emergency responses.
The parking gate includes a sensor system that automatically opens for responding emergency vehicles when sirens are activated.
Backup Systems Maintain Continuous Security Operations
Backup power systems ensure continued operation of the security infrastructure during electrical outages while maintaining unrestricted emergency-service access.
The property’s integrated smoke and carbon monoxide detection system has already been inspected and approved for code compliance.
