Synology® Inc. today announced the beta availability of Surveillance Station, which brings:

Boost in navigation performance
Highly customizable camera settings
Greater convenience in operation
Management efficiency in deployment

“With the latest version of Surveillance Station, we have integrated a wealth of advances to help users achieve efficiency as well as flexibility, and raised the user experience bar higher for the NVR solutions,” said Vic Hsu, CEO of Synology Inc.

With the introduction of Surveillance Web Plugin, which is designed to replace Java for Firefox and Chrome on Windows, the loading performance of Surveillance Station has been boosted up to 5 times. Furthermore, Surveillance Web Plugin enables Surveillance Station to show up to 49 channels of simultaneous full HD viewing in 1080p, and allows multiple live-view screens, which enhances administration efficiency and increases the viability of TV wall.

A myriad of features have been added to the already rich camera integration portfolio, allowing users to adjust settings based on theirs needs or network environments in more convenient ways. Now, users have the option to configure the field of view (FOV) to reach a perfect balance between performance and area of interest. By selecting constant bitrate control, users can set up a constant bitrate to avoid any possibility of over-bitrate.

RTSP/RTP Setting enables users to choose among different transportation protocols, including AUTO, UDP, TCP and HTTP. Support of multiple codec engines is now available, granting users with the capability of accessing the full power of cameras.

The latest Surveillance Station comes with a multitude of usability enhancements, elevating the navigation experience like never before. On-screen operations, which include PTZ for up to 32 directions, absolute position, focus, and iris-adjustment, are now available to help users achieve greater efficiency in operation. The reinforced eMap now not only offers an overview of the geographical camera deployment, but also offers preview of live feed of any camera, which is only one click away. Auto daylight saving mode is now supported, assuring users of accurate time stamps.

Surveillance Station now equips surveillance personnel with higher levels of efficiency in deployment. With the introduction of the independent Device Pack, Surveillance Station will have a more frequent and flexible way to expand IP camera library. Windows AD, LDAP and trust domain are supported, which simplifies the process of adopting existing account and privilege settings, and increases system integrity. Furthermore, notification can now be batch edited, saving the hassle of repetitive manual configuration.
