According to the latest report from research organization Omdia, Genetec has been recognized as the fastest-growing access control software provider in the world for the second year in a row. The report shows Genetec taking market share from other access control vendors and strengthening its number two position globally (up from 4th in 2019). Regionally, Genetec experienced the most organic growth in the Americas and was the fastest-growing software provider in EMEA.

Following a pandemic-exacerbated rise in data breaches and ransomware attacks, Genetec guided public sector organizations on how to reduce cyber vulnerabilities of physical security systems that are often overlooked. IP security cameras and other security devices were put in place to protect people, assets, and environments. But the same network connectivity that enables organizations to monitor operations and update software remotely presents a path into the network for cyber criminals. Genetec Names Leon Langlais Chief Product Officer for the APAC Region

Physical Security Industry Embraces New Technology to Adapt to Changing Conditions

Genete shared the results of its state of the industry report. Based on insights from over 2,000 physical security leaders from around the world, the report looks at how the role of physical security continued to evolve in 2021 as organizations adapted to changing conditions. Physical security continues to evolve from being seen as a tool for mitigating risk, to playing a much more significant role in organizations’ digital transformation. The survey showed that more than two-thirds (69%) of respondents described physical security and related data as “mission-critical”.

City of Chattanooga Deploys Genetec and Stratocast in Public-Private Policing Initiative

The Big 3 Suppliers of Video Surveillance Software

Genetec, Milestone Systems and Motorola Solutions have grown to become the “big 3” suppliers of video surveillance software, video analytics and managed services. According to a new report from Novaira Insights, the global market for video surveillance software and managed services was worth $2.2 billion in 2020 with around 69% of this outside China. However, the supply base outside China is very different to that of the Chinese domestic market.
