Suprema gave a preview of its third-generation product portfolio and displayed comprehensive industrial use cases of access control solutions at the International Security Conference & Exposition trade event —also known as ‘ISC West’— in the United States from March 23 to 25. Suprema showcased a new generation of access control products that focuses heavily on contactless solutions. The star of Suprema’s exhibit was BioStation 3, an all-in-one access control solution that provides multiple credential options from facial recognition and mobile access to QR codes, barcodes, and RFID cards. BioStation 3 will be released in the second half of the year.
Suprema has appointed Bob McKee as new President of Suprema America. McKee brings over 45 years of experience in the electronic physical security sector to this new role and will be responsible for leading Suprema’s North America business and its operations in the US. Prior to joining Suprema, McKee has held key executive positions with major and global security companies including Cardkey Systems, Paxton Access, Hanwha Techwin (formerly Samsung Techwin), Pelco and Princeton Identity. He also served multiple terms on the board of directors for SIA (Security Industry Association).

Through this integration, Genetec Synergis can be paired with Suprema access control devices to allow users to verify access credentials with fingerprints and facial recognition along with existing RFID cards and PIN numbers. Biometric data such as fingerprint and facial recognition records can be quickly registered through either the Security Center software or Suprema’s BioStar 2 software,.

Suprema announced the new product launch of the X-Station 2, a versatile intelligent terminal with credential options of mobile access, QR and barcodes as well as RFID cards and PIN. X-Station 2 enables flexible access control system design by supporting multiple credential options. The terminal is compatible with most types of existing RFID cards including EM, MIFARE, iCLASS, DESFire and FeliCa, but also lets users go card-less by offering mobile credential options including QR codes and barcodes.
