Iris Recognition Technology from Iris ID Allows Law Enforcement to Verify Identities with Up To 99% Accuracy

Iris ID to report growing adoption of its iris recognition technologies amongst the nation’s top local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Most notably, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) implemented Next Generation Identification (NGI) Iris Service utilizing advanced iris technology from Iris ID to allow law enforcement and corrections officials to capture, catalog, and rapidly compare iris images across a massive database to identify enrolled individuals with up to 99% accuracy.

Iris ID Showcase Biometric Solutions at Sheriff’s Conference

Iris ID will showcase its biometric technology at the National Sheriff’s Association’s Annual Conference and Exhibition later this month, the company has announced. The company aims to capitalize on the law enforcement sector’s intensifying interest in biometric identification solutions. The company already has a strong footing in the law enforcement sector. Its OU7S-AK camera module, for example, was embraced by the County of Los Angeles for its prisoner release process last year.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to Deploy Iris ID Technology

Iris ID will provide its biometric recognition technology to the County of Los Angeles to make its prisoner release process safer, more accurate and efficient. Iris ID’s OU7S-AK camera module will be part of 163 Livescan stations in 114 law enforcement locations throughout the county. The new criminal booking solution will bring iris-based identity authentication capabilities to a system that previously relied on fingerprints and photos to enroll and identify individuals arrested.
