Video surveillance firm IndigoVision has said it is making progress despite reporting a drop in profits. Operating profits for the 17 months to the end of 2014 were £2.8m – a drop of about 14%, however, sales increased by 10% to £53m.

The company said it had some strong project wins including casinos in the USA and airport and airline projects in Brazil, China, and the Middle East.

The Edinburgh-based firm said it continued to invest in technology. The latest set of results take into account a change in the reporting period so stretch for 17 months.

Chief executive Marcus Kneen said: "This extended 17-month period has seen good progress overall, and some excellent project wins. We expect to make gains going forward in the mid-market, which represents a growth opportunity for IndigoVision and should ameliorate the lumpy effect of larger projects on results."

He added: "Product innovation has continued apace, and the markets in which we operate continue to be favorable."

Body-Worn Cameras
IndigoVision has developed its own Body-Worn Video which will be launched in the next few months.

The company said it was a badge-sized camera and recorder that could be clipped to the clothing of all frontline staff, from police and prison officers, to airline, bank, healthcare, and customer services personnel.

A range of high-definition IP-cameras was launched at the end of last year and the firm said sales had been “encouraging.”

The strongest market for the company was North America with sales up 30% followed by a 20% increase in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

IndigoVision has sales and support teams in 22 countries and operates through 18 regional centers.
