Y-cam, makers of innovative Wi-Fi video cameras and cloud platform technology, has announced the launch of HomeMonitor HD Pro, the only weatherproof outdoor Wi-Fi cloud camera on the market built to bring affordable high definition security to the modern connected home.

Following on from its successful predecessor, Y-cam have incorporated new features based on the feedback from their rapidly growing customer base that sees the HomeMonitor HD Pro model offer a number of improved features compared to the HomeMonitor Outdoor model including; high quality video and audio, even easier installation, Power over Ethernet (PoE), a smaller compact design and an even more competitive price.

Housed inside an IP66-rated casing, the HomeMonitor HD Pro camera captures crisp 720p HD quality video footage from its high definition FarFocus™ lens, delivering an optimal outdoors view and improved low light visibility.

For night time surveillance, the HD Pro comes equipped with 24 IR LEDs delivering powerful infrared night vision up to 10m. It also features a high-specification microphone for improved audio quality, as well as a cable-managed wall mount for an easier and neater outdoor installation.

In line with all cameras in the Y-cam HomeMonitor range, the HD Pro offers free cloud storage for the last seven days in a personal cloud account, secured with bank-level encryption.

In the event of a break-in, the motion-generated video is safely stored off-site and can be downloaded for evidence, even if an intruder attempts to remove or destroy the camera.

In addition, the HD Pro can be viewed live anytime from anywhere with a fixed or mobile internet connection and will automatically send an alert, by email or push notification, whenever motion is detected according to the users recording schedule.
