C2P LPR System: Adding Value to Your Existing Security Investments

C2P LPR

The greatest advantage of using the C2P LPR system integration with your VMS system is you now have all license plate captures linked to not only any camera in the immediate area of the license plate detection but all cameras in the VMS system.

The C2P integration captures all license plates received from any license plate recognition system interfaced with C2P and stores these plates in a common format, in a common searchable database, that is time-synchronous with the customer’s VMS system. Being able to tie your metadata to recorded video provides undisputable proof of the event.

C2P connectivity software enables you to use your current security investments to their fullest extent which is accomplished by integrating all IP device metadata with your existing VMS system.

By doing so it saves time by having all of your IP device data in one easy to access database. It saves additional operator training expense since you have one common dash board to manage all your IP device integrations rather than several disparate systems.

Having IP device alerts brought into your client creates a unified security platform for security personnel, where critical data presented to security precisely at the moment of an event provides them with the information to evaluate the situation and communicate the proper response.

One recent customer said” We have only had the system installed for a short period of time but it has helped on cutting down (vehicle capture) review time.

Having the LPR metadata integrated with the VMS system allows you to pick out keywords in the metadata after the fact and search parameters with one click of the mouse bringing up any camera in your enterprise and have the video immediately time synchronized with the event.

Once the event is detected you can easily playback the captured video of where that vehicle was before the event as well as where it went after the detection.

This can be done directly from the client without having to go to other systems for the information.

Consider the fact there may have been other vehicles associated with the detected vehicle dropping items off or picking items up where you were not aware of initially because they did not come into view before the detection point; however, having other enterprise cameras in the area you can now associate the video of those vehicles with the one vehicle that was detected all from the convenience of the client.

In addition to having video of the other vehicles, you may have video of the individuals which can help identify and or confirm their presence at the scene.  Having this information at your fingertips allows you to have a better understanding of the environment thus improving your situational awareness.

The Jena Choctaw Pines Surveillance department shared with us this comment” Without giving the identifying details of the incidents I can tell you the combination of components that was put in place was  PlateSmart with ONSSI by C2P has improved quality with quicker review results

  1. We had an incident about a week after integrating PlateSmart with ONSSI by C2P that required a very detailed review.  By using the C2P LPR we were able to narrow down the time of searching when the subject arrived on property.
  2. We have also used the integration to save man-hours in reviews of employee work hour variances with payroll.
  3. Local law enforcement has also appreciated the help in establishing timeline with individuals leaving or arriving.
  4. We have also benefitted from being able to meet unwanted guest in our parking lot before they ever step out of the vehicle.

The main benefit to having this integration is the savings in man-hours performing reviews.

Why spend hours if not days (we are told) crawling thru your recorded video to find an event when you can just as easily use keywords in the metadata to find what you looking for within a few seconds. This is the value C2P brings to the end-user. As skillfully expressed by the Security Director of Choctaw Pines Casino “Once time has gone buy you can’t get it back, using this (C2P)   integration leaves you valuable time to plan and strategize”.

What differentiates C2P from other security VARs? It’s not just the unified security approach to integrating different IP devices into one common manageable system but it is the power and versatility of the integration of the metadata with C2P’s Hypermedia Search Engine and the fact that tying events to video provides the needed evidence to quickly solve crimes as well as prevent them.

The C2P integration framework allows metadata from different IP devices to be combined into a database search application where you can look for either a single event or compound events such as: a license plate associated with a face, a gunshot associated with a vehicle, an ATM transaction associated with a license plate or access control card swipe associated with a face.

These two-factor authentication searches are possible because C2P uses a common database. A common database allows you to associate multiple events to the recorded video after the fact while performing forensic investigations.

There are times of course when you do need to know in advance when a person of interest is entering your property or an unregistered vehicle is approaching your gated entrance as these apply to crime prevention situations. For these applications, C2P has developed Text Pop-up Alerts on-screen along with an audible tone notifying security personnel who must remain at their post.  These triggered events are setup in advance by the end user with Rules.

The Rules can be general such as any unregistered plate, or any person who has been previously tagged as someone who has shown aggressive behavior, a student who has been expelled, a worker who was dismissed following a tense situation. Under these circumstances you want to have as much advance notice as possible when that person or vehicle has returned to your facility.

C2P has also introduced GPS mapping of events showing where an event took place on the map with an alert Pop-up and the associated event-data brought to the client in real-time.  This is another advantage of having a common database where you have access to not only the event, the GPS coordinates of the sensor and the area cameras but a framework that ties all of these components together and displays them in the client.

The system will automatically find the 3 closest cameras in the area and bring those camera names up onto the client for easy access by security where one click of the mouse can bring up video from these area cameras all time synchronized to the event.

These are just a few of the benefits of having a common database that integrates your IP device metadata with your VMS system which is made possible through C2P’s integration software. This consolidation “adds value to your existing security investments”.

The integrations described above are becoming very common as end users are more comfortable with today’s security integration technology and C2P is at the forefront with its advanced technology integrations.
