Canon and NetAvis IP-Camera VMS Collaboration

Camera collaboration

Canon Europe has announced that it is working with NETAVIS, a server-based IP video company. The two companies and NETAVIS will collaborate in sales and technical development of Canon’s network camera range. The imaging product firm’s range of network security cameras –including its latest Full HD, ultra compact, S-series cameras– is now fully supported by NETAVIS Observer video management software.

The two companies will work together on compatibility between products, with a focus on surveillance and analytics capabilities. The two companies say that the European partnership will also enable them to develop tailored offerings to address specific challenges within key vertical sectors.

Any hardware or software issues will be managed by a single team. NETAVIS customers that are already using the Observer platform for video management can now integrate Canon’s network security cameras as part of any extension to their camera network.

Wolfgang Baumgartner, CEO, NETAVIS Software GmbH, says: “We’ve been working closely with Canon for several years, but recently stepped up our collaboration having recognised the great results we can achieve together.
Canon’s IP-camera portfolio will benefit our partners and end-users by offering easy-to-navigate and robust security solutions. We are pleased to be working with such a trusted, global brand that is renowned for its market-leading technology solutions.”

Julian Rutland, Product Strategy and Planning Director, Canon Europe, stated: “We are always looking to deliver added-value solutions by combining the unique capabilities of our products with complementary market-leading software solutions.
